Intentional Curriculum that Positions You for Success.

Yoga Teachers have so many opportunities now.

Neuroscience, medical practices, schools, addiction services, behavioral health, and even corporations understand the value of yoga as a means of supporting who they serve.

They are looking for partners within the Yoga Industry, but most teacher trainings and most yoga teachers haven’t caught up. We are still just learning how to teach a group class.

This training is based on extensive analysis of what the need is and how we can fill it as yoga professionals.

Beyond the Group Class: Discovering Your Teaching Path

Most teacher trainings prepare you for one thing: leading a group class. But we know yoga can be so much more.

I developed this program after watching too many talented teachers never quite find their footing—or slowly burn out—because they only knew one way to share their gift. Maybe you've felt it too: that intimidation approaching studios, the exhaustion of the group class routine, or sensing you could make a deeper impact but not knowing how.

This program opens doorways to share yoga in ways that truly resonate with you:

Create & Guide Transformative Retreats Imagine leading your own retreats, from that first inspired vision through every meaningful detail. You'll learn not just the logistics and business side, but how to craft experiences that genuinely transform lives—including your own.

Develop Confidence in Private Sessions There's something profound about working one-on-one with students. We'll help you develop the skills to assess, customize, and hold space for individual journeys. You'll learn appropriate boundaries and pricing, turning private sessions into one of the most fulfilling aspects of your teaching.

Design Programs for Specific Communities Whether you're called to serve in schools, healthcare settings, or corporate environments, you'll learn how to develop and present programs that speak to specific needs. Your capstone project will be a professional proposal ready to open doors.

Share Your Knowledge Through Workshops Move beyond generic offerings to create educational experiences grounded in research and your unique perspective. You'll discover how to structure, share, and market workshops that establish you as a trusted voice in your community.

"Sara helped me see there was so much more possible than the Saturday morning vinyasa class. I now guide quarterly retreats, have a beautiful private practice, and teach specialized workshops.. I rarely teach in studios anymore—I've created something that feels so much more aligned. I honestly didn’t even know it was possible before the AYTT." - Emily T., Graduate

What Makes Us Different

Graduate-Level Education with Real-World Application Deep Yoga Method is structured like a master's degree program—rigorous, comprehensive, and culminating in a capstone project. We're one of only two advanced training programs in the country requiring a professional capstone, ensuring you graduate with more than a certificate.

Mentorship Built into the Program Bringing your work into the world isn’t easy. This program includes 12 one-on-one meetings with Sara and weekly group mentorship.

Bookend Retreats and Local Learning Getting away from your life and immersing yourself in yoga is an amazing gift, but learning with a community and applying what you learn in real time is just as important.

Limited to 15 Students. Small cohorts mean your voice is heard and personal attention in every session, deep connections with peers, individualized teaching feedback, real relationships that last beyond graduation.

The elements

Core Curriculum: Four cutting-edge modules address today's most pressing needs and opportunities:

  • Functional anatomy for injury prevention and rehabilitation

  • Nervous system regulation for trauma and stress

  • Women's health across the lifespan

  • Chronic pain and illness management

Customizable Curriculum Through Electives While other programs offer a one-size-fits-all approach, our elective system lets you craft your unique expertise. Choose from specializations rarely found elsewhere:

  • Teaching Somatic Yoga

  • Yoga for Anxiety & Depression

  • Women's Health & Hormonal Wellness

  • Advanced Sequencing for Different Bodies

  • Voice, Language & Presence

  • The Business of Yoga

  • And more based on emerging needs

This isn't just another training—it's a thoughtfully designed educational journey that transforms you into a master teacher and professional.

Your Capstone: A Career-Launching Portfolio Unlike programs that end with a quiz, you'll develop a professional-grade proposal backed by research. Whether pitching to hospitals, schools, or retreat centers, you'll graduate with a market-ready presentation that opens doors. You can use your capstones to:

  • Secure contracts with regional health systems

  • Launch specialized therapeutic programs

  • Develop funded wellness initiatives

  • Create innovative retreat offerings

The ingredients

Evidence-Based Approach: Learn to articulate yoga's benefits through neuroscience, functional anatomy, and current research. Give your students—and healthcare partners—confidence in your expertise.

Real-World Application: Every module teaches not just what, but HOW:

  • Module 1: How to assess bodies and create customized practices

  • Module 2: How to design and market successful retreats

  • Module 3: How to structure and price private sessions for special populations

  • Module 4: How to partner and integrate yoga into other systems like non-profits, healthcare systems, school districts, and coroprate settings.

  • Electives: What most interests you and rounds out your edcation so you can develop workshops, courses, and specialized offerings

Personalized Mentorship: Work one-on-one with Sara, whose unique background bridging healthcare systems, academic teaching, and studio ownership provides practical guidance for every aspect of your yoga career.

Confidence Through Preparation: I know approaching studios and starting to teach feels intimidating. Our program builds your confidence through:

  • Practice teaching with supportive feedback

  • Templates and scripts for approaching venues

  • Peer mentorship and accountability

  • Multiple teaching formats so you can find what feels right

  • A supportive community that celebrates your first steps

The unfortunate truth is that Advanced Yoga Teacher Trainings simply don’t offer this. After your certification, you typically don’t teach in a training ever again. It’s just lecture and a quiz. That just doesn’t serve you. Your certification program taught you how to teach a group class. The AYTT is where you most need practice, guidance, and support.

Life-long Friendships that Last: Experience the magic of retreat connections that don't end when you go home. Because we're all local, the deep bonds formed during our destination retreats transform into lifelong friendships, supported by regular alumni functions.

Healthcare Integration Expertise: Yoga is Healthcare, no matter where you teach. Benefit from Sara's decade of experience as a liaison between federal healthcare funders, community behavioral health and primary care centers, and Ivy League medical programs. Learn exactly how to:

  • Build professional partnerships

  • Speak the language of medical professionals

  • Create evidence-based protocols so that providers feel comfortable referring to you

  • Build relationships with doctors, therapists, non-profits, state agencies, and health centers

  • Position yourself as a credible wellness partner, not "just a yoga teacher"

FAQs

  • Electives are open to anyone with a 200-hour certification.

The Core Modules are not. To ensure rich peer learning and practical application, we require 3 months of teaching experience (in any capacity) for the core modules, mentorship, and retreat. Recent graduates from our YTT or those with unique circumstances are encouraged to schedule a consultation to discuss their readiness. Exceptions to the 3-month rule may be made.

  • Absolutely. The program is designed for working professionals with weekend scheduling. You'll need about 6-10 hours monthly for classes plus 3-5 hours weekly for practice and study.

  • Don't worry—I will guide you through every step. The capstone develops naturally throughout the program, and my technical writing background means you'll get expert support in creating a professional proposal.

The combination of structured training with personalized mentorship creates a transformative container for genuine growth as a teacher.

  • I’m tempted to do this as an online program. But I won’t. While online programs offer convenience, our in-person format provides hands-on adjustments, real-time feedback, and genuine community connections. You'll build lasting local relationships, receive personalized attention in small groups, and have direct access to mentorship. The retreat experiences and face-to-face learning create transformation that's difficult to replicate online.

  • Life happens! I understand emergencies arise. If you miss a session, it will be recorded and you will have to complete a quiz or write a paper to prove you have absorbed the key information. Don’t worry, I'll work with you to ensure you meet certification requirements while maintaining the integrity of your learning.

  • Yes! Our weekend electives are open to all 200-hour certified teachers. It's a great way to explore specialized topics or experience our teaching style before committing to the full program. Elective hours can be applied toward the 300-hour certification if you enroll within one year.

You can also do any of the core sessions as standalone trainings or the mentorship.

Module 1: Yoga Teacher's Guide To and Through the Body

55 Hours | Required Core program

Explore the human body through both physical and energetic lenses in this transformative training. This comprehensive component examines specific areas of the body through dual perspectives: the anatomical/mechanical and the subtle/energetic.

You'll learn to address common injuries and limitations while developing creative approaches to teaching that incorporate metaphor, language, and imagery. Each body region is explored through practical teaching applications for both group and private settings, giving you concrete strategies to transform your teaching immediately.

This essential training forms the foundation of our advanced program, providing you with the sophisticated understanding of the body necessary for truly effective teaching.

Master the art and science of deep rest in this specialized training focused on restorative yoga and the nervous system. Beginning with an exploration of the central nervous system and vagus nerve, you'll develop a comprehensive understanding of why rest is essential and how to guide students into genuine relaxation.

The training encompasses three core areas: restorative yoga practice (poses, props, and class design), the koshas (energetic layers of being), and yoga nidra (yogic sleep). You'll experience the transformative effects of consistent practice through a daily yoga nidra practice during the training.

Learn to teach these practices at different times of day, develop workshops and retreat experiences, and guide students into meaningful rest in a world that rarely slows down.

.

Don’t worry!

I know some of you are thinking “this sounds a bit intimidating!” And some of you are thinking “this sounds so exciting! “Maybe you are thinking both at the same time.

If you did your 200-hour with me you know that I will help you every step of the way and together we will progress little by little. My trainings have a high standard and I expect you to work hard, but I also believe in kindness, safety, and support. That’s the only way people learn and grow.

You will come out of this program an exceptional teacher, clear and ready to teach yoga on your terms.

If you’ve done a Yoga Teacher Training, you know the importance of quality.

after all…

• A YTT can give you the confidence, skill, knowledge, and experience to start living the life you want, or put you right back where you started.

• Quality leadership can build a supportive, kind community of life long friends. Poor leadership can produce a disconnected or stressful group dynamic.

• Yes, there are online programs for $500. But what are you really getting from that program. You’re going to devote 300 hours of your time to study. Is it worth your time and energy to enroll in a low quality program?

"The decision to invest in advanced training was the turning point in my teaching career. Don't wait to take your teaching to the next level."
