300-HOUR YOGA ALLIANCE CERTIFIED ADVANCED Yoga Teacher TRAINING

Elevate Your Teaching, Expand Your Impact

Train where the pedagogy is the point. Build a career that goes beyond the group class.

Person writing in a notebook with a pen, sitting by a window.

Beyond the Group Class.

Most advanced yoga teacher trainings prepare you to do one thing better: lead a group class. This one is different.

A teacher who can only lead group classes is limited in their ability to serve students and make yoga a career.

The student in chronic pain doesn't need a louder cue in a vinyasa class — she needs a private session designed around her body. The teacher heading into burnout doesn't need another class on her to-do list — she needs a retreat that actually restores her. The healthcare system looking to integrate yoga doesn't need a 30-minute yoga class twice a year — it needs a partner who can design and present a program that will convince leadership to actually do it.

If we believe that the teacher is responsible for the student's success — and we do — then we have to prepare teachers for the full range of formats students need.

Each specialty module pairs clinical and somatic subject matter with a teaching format you'll learn to deliver:

  • Foundation Module: Yoga Teacher's Guide to and Through the Body — functional and energetic anatomy applied across all teaching contexts.

  • Specialty Module: Rest & Retreat — restorative yoga and yoga nidra, paired with how to design, market, and lead retreats.

  • Specialty Module: Chronic Pain & Private Sessions — evidence-based pain protocols, paired with how to structure and price private work.

  • Specialty Module: Women's Health & System Integration — hormonal health throughout a woman’s life, pelvic floor and deep core, paired with how to build partnerships with healthcare and community organizations.

  • Specialty Module: Somatics for Longevity, Creativity, and Nervous System Regulation The science of why yoga works to relieve stress and pain and promote calm. Lectures on both the nervous system and fascia. Deep dives into somatic yoga techniques, myofascial release, and yin yoga.

Apply first. Then choose your path.

.

The Advanced Certification begins with an application. Applications are reviewed individually, and accepted students are invited to choose between two paths to the same certification. Both paths lead to the same credential, the same level of mentorship, and the same capstone project. They differ in how the training is delivered.

The Cohort Path

For teachers who want a defined two-year experience with a fixed group.

On the Cohort Path, you begin together, move through the curriculum on a shared calendar, and graduate together. You will be encouraged to pursue what interests you. Some flexibility is built into the program’s structure to support your growth in a specialized area.

What's included:

  • The Foundation Module — 55 hours, eight monthly Saturdays, October through May in Year 1.

  • A minimum of two specialty modules — Rest & Retreat, Chronic Pain & Private Sessions, Women's Health & System Integration, Somatics for Longevity, Creativity, and Nervous System Regulation. 60 hours. Specialty modules are subject to change. You can take more than two and fewer electives.

  • 6+ weekend electives chosen from the workshop catalog — approximately 60–100 hours.

  • Twelve hours of one-on-one mentorship with Sara across the two years.

  • Eighteen hours of group mentorship — monthly cohort evenings.

  • Annual destination retreat in January (when enrollment supports it) or a local retreat at Shine 12 hours.

  • Capstone project developed across the year, presented to the cohort at graduation.

Tuition: $4,600, with quarterly or monthly payment plans available.

Schedule: October through June of the following year.

The Self-Led Path

For teachers who want to learn on their own timeline.

The Self-Led Path is for teachers who can't commit to a fixed cohort but want the full credential. You apply, get accepted, and then compose your 300 hours from the same workshops, modules, and Foundation Module the Cohort Path students take — at your own pace, over two to three years.

What's included:

  • The Foundation Module — 55 hours, taken with the next available annual cohort.

  • At least two specialty modules, chosen based on your area of focus — 60 hours.

  • Approximately 130 hours of weekend electives, chosen from the workshop catalog to build your own area of specialization.

  • Twelve hours of one-on-one mentorship with Sara, scheduled to match your pace.

  • Eighteen hours of group mentorship through the ongoing certification student group, regardless of where you are in your hours.

  • Capstone project developed in the final third of your certification, presented to the certification cohort.

Tuition:
FoundationalModule ( required): (55 hours): $2,060.

Module 2,3,4 & 5: (30 hours each): $1,125 each.

Opening Retreat (12 hours): approximately $1200.

Weekend Elective ( 10 hours each): $299 each.

Individual Mentorship Package: $1500

Individual components total over $9,500 when purchased separately. The full program offers exceptional value at $4,600.

Schedule: complete on your own timeline.

Workshops and modules are available as standalone continuing education for any teacher with a 200-hour certification — no application required. If you later decide to apply for the certification, the hours you've already completed will count toward it.

How to Apply

.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. The application asks about your teaching experience ( if any), your area of focus or interest, the populations you serve or want to serve, and what you're hoping to build in your work as a teacher.

Once submitted, I read every application personally. Most applicants hear back within a week, and accepted students are invited to a brief consultation to talk through the program, expectations, and special needs.

There is no application fee. Tuition begins once you've been accepted and chosen your path.

Built like a graduate program

For the Advanced Certification specifically, that means:

  • A cohort small enough that Sara knows your work, your goals, and your growth.

  • Twelve hours of one-on-one mentorship with Sara.

  • Eighteen hours of group mentorship. Monthly or quarterly evening sessions for case studies, peer learning, and ongoing support.

  • A capstone project of professional scope, developed with mentorship across the final third of your certification.

  • Retreats and intensives that build the cohort relationships, sustaining teachers long after graduation.

  • Application of what you learned. It is rare in an advanced-level training to practice what you have learned by teaching each other. Advanced YTTs are typically all lecture. That’s a great loss. You will apply and embody what you learn in the safe and supportive environment of your peers.

A career-launching capstone.

Most advanced trainings end with a quiz. This one ends with a capstone project that opens doors. Working one-on-one with me throughout the certification, you'll build a professional-grade portfolio in the area of your choosing — whether that's a specialized workshop, a retreat program, a private practice model, or a proposal pitched to a healthcare system, school district, or wellness center.

"Sara helped me see there was so much more possible than the Saturday morning vinyasa class. I now guide quarterly retreats, have a beautiful private practice, and teach specialized workshops.. I rarely teach in studios anymore—I've created something that feels so much more aligned. I honestly didn’t even know it was possible before the AYTT." - Emily T., Graduate

Student Love

"After five years of teaching, I found myself burning out and questioning my path.

The Deep Yoga Advanced Training completely revitalized me and my teaching career. The modular format allowed me to focus on my interests while the mentorship helped me identify my unique strengths and develop offerings that truly set me apart.

I've not only rekindled my passion for teaching but have doubled my income while working fewer hours—proof that this investment pays for itself many times over."

-Lindsey

FAQs

Do I need a 200-hour certification to apply?

Yes. The Advanced Certification builds on the foundation of a 200-hour certification. Your 200-hour can be from any Yoga school.

How long does the certification take?

The Cohort Path is two years, The Self-Led Path typically takes two to three years, depending on your pace. An example of finishing in. three years would be to complete the Foundation Module in their first year, two specialty modules and a portion of electives in their second year, and the remaining electives plus capstone in their third year.

What happens if I start on the Cohort Path but can't keep up?

You can transition to the Self-Led Path at any point. Your completed hours carry over directly. We'll talk through what makes sense at the moment the question arises.

What happens if I start on the Self-Led Path and want to join a cohort?

You can apply to join a Cohort Path mid-stream if you've completed the Foundation Module or are doing the Foundation Module with the cohort. The cohort experience is most meaningful when you go through it together from the start — but it is always an option.

Do I have to take two specialty modules?

Yes. Taking two specialty modules gives you the breadth of knowledge that you should have as an advanced teacher while still allowing you to specialize.

Can I substitute prior advanced training from another school towards my hours?

I’m afraid not. Our program is different from most, and our outcomes reflect our content and practices.

Is the certification recognized by Yoga Alliance?

Yes. The Advanced Certification is a Yoga Alliance registered 500-hour training. Combined with any 200-hour certification, graduates qualify to register with Yoga Alliance as RYT-500. However, Yogav Alliance’s relevance is always in flux within the Yoga Community, and other accreditation bodies are emerging, which may make more sense for us in the future.

What if I only want to take a few workshops or modules without applying?

That's completely fine. Workshops and modules are available as standalone continuing education for any teacher with a 200-hour certification — no application required. If you later decide to apply for the certification, the hours you've already completed will count toward it.

Are payment plans available?

Yes. The Cohort Path offers quarterly and monthly payment plans. The Self-Led Path is paid offering-by-offering as you move through it, which is itself a built-in payment plan. Students who commit to the full certification at application can pay in quarterly installments and receive a modest discount.

Is there financial aid or sliding scale tuition?

Limited scholarships are available. Talk to me during the application process if cost is a barrier — I'd rather work it out than lose a teacher who'd thrive in this program.

Ready to take your teaching to the next level?

The next cohort begins october 2026.
